After a long and successful career in corporate marketing, Angela Kimbell reached a crossroads—one shaped as much by circumstance as by choice. When organizational changes brought her corporate chapter to an unexpected close, she saw it as an opportunity to design her next one with complete creative freedom. Rather than return to a world of private equity, boardrooms and metrics, she chose to build something deeply personal and purpose-driven—an endeavor where passion, perspective, and storytelling could guide every decision.

Having traveled to more than 55 countries across five continents and spent a decade working internationally between Atlanta and London, Angela has long been captivated by the art of crafting experiences that go beyond the ordinary. She’s sailed on everything from private catamarans to ultra-luxury cruise lines and believes that truly great travel should feel immersive, flavorful, and memorable—woven with local culture, cuisine, and connection.

That vision became Trip For The Books—a boutique travel brand inspired by food, wine, culture, and the stories that unfold when travelers go beyond the surface. Drawing from decades of strategic development, marketing expertise and a lifelong spirit of curiosity, Angela designs journeys that are thoughtfully tailored to each client’s season of life. Whether it’s a milestone celebration, a relaxing retreat, or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, she brings insider access, creative flair, and meticulous attention to detail to every itinerary.

Over the years, Angela has helped friends, family, and colleagues craft remarkable getaways, eventually taking their collective advice: “You should do this professionally!” Now she does—and every experience she designs is more than a vacation. It’s a Trip For The Books.

At Trip For The Books, the hummingbird is more than a beautiful icon — it is the perfect symbol of how we believe travel should be experienced. Despite its delicate size, the hummingbird is known for remarkable endurance, flying thousands of miles on migration journeys. It reminds us that even the smallest moments of joy can carry profound meaning when savored fully.

We curate travel with that same philosophy. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or simply the gift of time with loved ones, each trip is designed to become part of your life’s story — a memory you’ll return to again and again. Like the hummingbird pausing to sip nectar, we believe in slowing down. Each destination reveals its richness when savored fully—the warmth of its people, the vibrancy of traditions, and the flavors of its cuisine.

Our itineraries are immersive by design, encouraging you to step beyond the expected and into experiences that deepen your connection with a place. It may be an afternoon cooking alongside a local chef, wandering through a market bursting with color, or raising a glass of wine that has been crafted on those very soils for generations.

Ultimately, the hummingbird inspires us to design journeys that are light yet powerful, joyful yet meaningful — an invitation to pause, to celebrate, and to savor all the wonderful things the world has to offer.
